Creation and Production Classes

Sometimes called creative industries, Creative Kids offers financial assistance for kids to develop a passion for photography, fashion design, video game creation, music production, book publishing, and jewelry making classes. These activities encourage planning and commitment to a project, overcoming technical challenges, and a desire to share their finished art with the world.

Art galleries, non-profit organizations, city-run programs, and talented individuals sometimes offer these activities, though they can be harder to find. Photography clubs, filmmaking organizations, or makerspaces sometimes offer these classes.

Families can apply for up to $750 in financial assistance for these classes.

Application Tips

STEM/STEAM classes: Creation and production classes are sometimes similar to coding, STEAM, science, and engineering classes. However, coding, STEAM and technology classes are not eligible, because Creative Kids supports artistic expression and cultural impact, which technology classes may not feature.
