Music Lessons

Music is fun! Kids and teenagers learn that practice and commitment bring success. They might stumble through early songs, but once they learn how to play piano, guitar, or drums, their confidence soars and they are eager to perform for family and friends. Some use their skills to relax, some as a creative outlet. All the while, getting better at complex tasks and filling the home with music.

Creative Kids works with many music teachers and businesses — music for young children, summer music camps, piano lessons at a teacher’s home, guitar lessons at a studio, voice and singing lessons, community choirs, and music conservatories and academies. We know instructors for virtually every kind of musical instrument.

Some instructors offer online music classes and remote lessons. Some offer music lessons in your home.

Families can apply for up to $750 financial assistance per child for music lessons.

Application Tips

Musical instruments: You can sometimes apply for up to $150 for musical instrument rental. For instance, if piano lessons cost $600 from September to June, you could apply for up to $150 at a music rental store to rent a keyboard. (Maximum $750 total for lessons and rental.)

What Parents say about Music

Because of music lessons, we have seen one of our kids do better at school with choosing to do challenging things, knowing that they have worked on hard things before and achieved them.

My child has learned so much from nothing. She is such a great guitar player now and I’m so proud of her talent and development.
