Creative Kids provides financial assistance for kids to connect with their cultural roots and with natural and built heritage. Children gain a sense of self, identity, and pride when exploring their family and community.
Traditional children’s Indigenous art and beading classes, ribbon skirt making, museum summer camps, learning Cree, German, and Mandrin languages, are all examples. Culture camps, children’s architectural activities, and nature conservation classes are also eligible for Creative Kids funding.
Indigenous community leaders, First Nations organizations, Nature Saskatchewan, and the Saskatchewan Archaeological Society sometimes offer these classes.
Families can apply for up to $750 financial assistance per child for culture and heritage camps and classes.
What Parents say about Culture
“We’re really appreciative of the help of Creative Kids. I know because of my situation that it’s impossible for me to cover the costs of these activities. Creative Kids has helped a lot for my children – especially for Didi, as I can see she has many talents.”
